dc1: 800’s dept. on a saturday morning
everyday has some sort of a twist so il just describe yesterdays events:
14/6/08
4.30am - alarm goes off, “i do not want to get out of bed!!”
5.15am - supervisor picks me up, go to pick another supervisor up.
5.30am - arrive in the building, the other supervisor heads off to dailies, we head to the 600’s as there were a few problems with the work.
5.45am - arrive at the 800’s department, we have 32,000 to pick, average 5/6 hour pick time. have a chat with workmates. Get fully woken up as the alarms go off for the conveyor belts as they start up.
6.00am - sent to pick three colours on 6 case pick lines, managed to get 4 lines fully done.
6.30am - called to the bench, i had to do about 30 moves (stock which is being moved from one bay location to another) for the department
9.00am - finished the moves, talked to my mate for 10 mins, then went to see who wanted anything fetching back from the canteen as its a good 5 min walk.
9.10am - heads off to the canteen, i see another mate on the 500’s dept. on the way and take another food order lol
9.20am - get back to the 800s and starts my break, just stood about the bench having a laugh
9.50am - sent to do another 3 colours on two lines
10.15am - just walking about for ages
10.45am - sent to finish the orders on 4 lines and give them a quick tidy.
11.45 am - told to finish another 4 lines
12.45pm - another walk about
1.00pm - told to clean 3 lines
1.15pm - big blockage on the cardboard compactor, sorting that out
1.45pm - me and the supervisor head to the 400’s to help them finish off
1.50pm - i get sent to go find a certain type of brush on the 500’s with no luck
2pm - told its home time!!
